Thoughtful House All Star Classic
Thoughtful House All Star ClassicThe Dixie Chicks kicked off the first All-Star Classic Celebrity Softball game at the Dell Diamond on November 6th with a truly beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Nicholas Ryland, a seven-year old child who was diagnosed with severe autism at three and now attends a mainstream school without a shadow, threw out the first pitch. The stars were divided into two teams, one led by Greg Swindell, a former Diamondback and a board member of Thoughtful House, and the other led by Curt Schilling, a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. The players and fans had so much fun they decided that the four scheduled innings were not enough, so the game went on for six. All proceeds from the event benefitted programs at Thoughtful House.
